As I was working on my booklet or should I say my Magazine I found some amazing images  that are quite interesting to look at!

An “off-the-wall” book on almost legal graffiti

orbikalcomp660

Is tagging a wall with stickers illegal? Yes it is, it is considered vandalism just like graffiti but in a non-permanent way.

In terms of a graffiti tool, the sticker comes in many forms.  It can be bought at Staples and pre-scribbled.  It can be cut out of butcher paper and wheat-pasted.  It can even be doodled and Superglued, though that’s not recommended.  People don’t love stickers for their permanancy on a wall.  They love stickers because of the control  you don’t have to worry about dripping paint, frozen hands, or keeping a constant police lookout as you spray paint the walls.

In terms of its history, “sticker art is believed to have roots in Sydney, Australia, where a World War Two veteran named Arthur Stace slicked the words “ETERNITY” in trademark silver lettering all over the city.  The tagging continued until 1960, when Stace died and Australia began slating his wall works as monuments, forbidden from removal.”(faran krencil)

Theres is a new book called Sticker Bomb, created by the London design studio Rarekwai, the book comes with a history of “stick-and-runs”, plus almost 300 stickers that you can peel and paste yourself. You can find this now in Urban Outfitters ($24.95)

Footloose:

Okat’s “barefoot sneaker”

What you need:

According to him, “a few beers, some left-over acrylic and my own barefeet and ugly toes as inspiration”, or a pair of simple white sneakers you’d like to see improved.

1.  Take off your sneakers and socks, and with a pencil draw out an outline of your feet onto the shoes
2.  Grab some acrylic paints, skin tone and black for the outline
3.  Paint them and let them dry before you put them on again
And lo! You’re a walking protest march.  Or something.

I was looking at a magazine while my friend was getting her hair cut and I came upon some amazing designs and dresses. I went home and searched the designer; her name is Tsumori Chisato,  she is a Japanese fashion designer. She began work with Issey Miyake in 1977 and then started her own line in 1990.  Her aesthetic focuses on prints and has a “healthy dose of manga/bohemian cuteness”.

Here are my top 5 favorite from her  2009 spring/summer Paris collection:

So on the weekend I went to china town with a friend just to look around. We found so many neat places and stores it was pretty fun. Before we left we found a tooney store where my friend spent a lot of money buying paper for his print making class. In the store we found this really crazy origami which he decided to buy for me . He told me  I had to make it for him, it  was my homework to make him that origami flower. I got home and  tried building it but I am now stuck and the instructions are in chinese so its even harder to understand. Ill show you the process of how its going and hope to finish it some day :P

hello reading week!

My cousin from seattle came up to visit me on  saturday so I took her to english bay. We got some ice cream and walked around. Later on in the day after dinner, we decided we wanted to go out and do something fun. We went to many bars to celebrate “valentines day”.

I was so happy for my cousin to visit, she is the first  person to  come to vancouver and visit me. Yesterday; on monday I decided I would ride back with her to seattle and see my other cousins and my aunt.
